Ah yes, the religious struggle. The eternal questions. Why am I here? Where did I come from? How does it end? Does it end? The Hell of it is that there is no answer. Seventy virgins? Seventy raisins? A mansion in heaven? Release from illusion and suffering? Nirvana? The only known certainty is, in the end you die. Everything else is, well…
It appears that all of humanity spends some time exploring the jungle of what will be, and why? In my case the seeds of my core belief were planted by Christianity. Mormonism specifically (Mormons ARE Christians, in spite of claims otherwise). I Was born in a Mormon community in Utah! I can honestly testify that at one point I had perfect faith! Later I learned that my father and his parents were not Mormons and that I’d been baptized as a protection against the prejudice my father had experienced in his youth living in a Mormon community (Mormons are human). So twas a straight path to the world of agnosticism for me at around age ten.
As a severely addicted reader, I eventually found myself reading the Bible. First out of curiosity. How could such an old book of probable nonsense grip the souls of so many? This curiosity eventually evolved into historical interest as I moved into the realms of folklore. It actually doesn’t matter what is real or true. What matters is what one believes. Belief generates “truth,” a subjective reality. Though he seems a relative imbecile, Biden’s statement, “We choose truth over facts” is rather visionary. In any case, the Bible has amazed me not only in terms of apparent absurdity and human belief, but in the exemplification of human nature which seems to have rung similar truth for as long as humanity has had the ability to preserve his thinking (cave paintings).
Religion has varying effects on the societies in which it resides, and we have reams of example to study, including major differences in societies based on differing religious ideologies. For western society, Christianity, with its boatload of variations, is by far the major influencing religious ideology. The American ideal of “rights” is based on the Judeo-Christian principle that we are not the property, nor subjects of kings, emperors, presidents ect. We are, rather the product of deity. Something beyond the ability of man to control. Human rights require universal moral norms. A level of human dignity must be recognized. An inestimable value must reside in the frame of every individual. Whether or not there actually be a deity at the helm, the beauty of such a humanitarian philosophy is undeniable. The positive effect of such a belief is amply provable as well. Could we cast a Biblical spell making the red letters to become the absolute foundation and followed rule of humanity it would be problem solved for every challenge humanity faces.
Not only Christianity, but religion in general has been a stumbling block for those seeking dominion over others throughout history. Thus the ultimate enemy of individualism which the American founders referred to as stateism, now evolved into globalism, need either to eliminate, or to substitute themselves as the deistic entity for the people they long to control. Which leads to a discussion that even a genius such as myself lacks the wherewithal to discuss effectively in a short article such as this, but religions tend to hold an image representative of the concept. For Christians it is Satan, or a concept of The AntiChrist.
In America we have a political ideology which attaches itself to the concept of progressivism, and a political party which propagates that notion, in spite of its absurdity. Progress to the lack of freedom? Progress to the lack of individualism? Progress to the mundanity of secularism? No, tis progress to the majesty of governance! A political party whose very foundation was a lie. They adopted the appellation of the politic of mediocrity, “democracy,” and called themselves, “democrats” as they proceeded to battle against freedom in America.
At the time of the Civil War, all slaveholders were Democrats. No one has found an exception to this. The Democratic Party was the party of Jim Crow. The KKK consisted of white Democrats who terrorized both black America and white Republicans, murdering thousands. Over 1000 of which were white Republicans. The horrors of the democrat party are worthy of volumes but for my point here I would point to their abolition of Jesus Christ.
I refer to the democrats as, “demonrats.” It comes across as a joke, but I’m absolutely serious. Their prevailing moral is “Live Your Truth.” They champion the “right” to kill children in the womb. They redifine the concept of marriage. While they spout the term “science,” they deny it in terms of what we are, male? female? or one of the dozens of variations? In the hallowed halls of D.C. they’ve prohibited the use of terms like mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter. They preach that the truth is what you say it is. Thus Biden is actually speaking truth (a rarity for him) when he prolaims, “We choose truth, over facts.” The one third of his statement, “We choose unity over division. We choose science over fiction. We choose truth over facts,” that actually is a fact! And woe be it we put any follower of the Prince of Peace into the Supreme Court!
Not only Christians, the demonrats target Jews and the nation of Israel. Seventy percent of House Democrats voted in Sept. 2020, against a Republican-sponsored amendment to include anti-Semitism as a form of discrimination in programs that receive federal funding. Black Lives Matter has published the claim that Israel is responsible for “the genocide taking place against the Palestinian people,” and “Israel is an apartheid state … that sanction[s] discrimination against the Palestinian people.” Not only anti–Semitic, but completely false! Oh how it must have pained SDopes to register as “true” that the demonrat rag “New York Times,” advised America not to worry about Hitler’s anti-semitism. I wonder what relativity this has to the lack of appreciation we’ve seen in the media for Trump finally keeping the promise made to Israel and broken by American politicians for decades. A move that the noble Bill Clinton claimed would make Middle East Peace impossible. Come to think of it, we haven’t heard much about the Middle East Peace Agreement which followed Trump’s “mistake.” But I digress.
The point of all this is that we’re losing the very foundation upon which American freedom and independence was built. Like it or not, that foundation is Christianity. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” This is not the statement of secularists. It was this vision of humanity being a product of God which removed any possibility of the right of an aristocracy to curtail the inherent rights such ownership grants. “And I charged your judges at that time, ‘Hear the cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the alien who is with him. You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’” Deuteronomy 1:16-17.
Also important is to remember the warnings and watch for the relevance of them we are seeing today. ” I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel,” Genesis 3:15. “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” Isiaih 5:20. “But what I am doing I will keep doing, in order to cut off the claim of those who want an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things they brag about. For such men are counterfeit apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:12-14.
